GUERNICA IN COLORS With this work I did not want to create a beautiful work in the traditional sense, but to represent the current world: an environment that is often chaotic, saturated and full of conflicts. I was inspired by Pablo Picasso's Guernica, making my own interpretation through collage and a palette of intense and contrasting colors. We live surrounded by unstructured information, wars and constant images that reach us without filter or order. For this reason, the composition is fragmented and charged. The chromatic choice flees from calm harmony. I have used very vivid, saturated and accentuated tones through the play of complementary colors for three key reasons: To provide immediate drama. To capture attention directly and without concessions. To generate a certain visual discomfort. The color here does not adorn: the painting needs to scream to convey its mission. Each element of the composition has been adapted to reflect contemporary reality: The bull: Symbolizes wars, violence and destructive force. The horse: Represents the people; a saturated, over-informed society directly affected by everything that happens around it. The fire and the human figures: They are the reflection of despair, pain and collective suffering. The green figure: It is the only element that closes a different discourse. It acts as a counterpoint and represents light and hope within the chaos. Its presence is essential to remember that, even in the darkest situation, there is a way out. I wanted the painting to scream! represent contemporary chaos through fragmentation and chromatic intensity. Where the bull is war and the horse the saturated people, the green figure provides the indispensable bud of hope within the despair.
